The women of Vladimir Putin: Hints He May Marry Again

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday he would probably have to get married again, but did not say to whom.

Putin, 66, who jealously protects his privacy and that of his close family, was replying to a question posed by a reporter at his annual press conference, which focused mainly on international relations and the state of the economy.

“As a respectable person, I will have to do this at some point,” Putin said, smiling.

Putin was married to Lyudmila Putina from 1983 until their divorce, announced in 2013.

Their daughters, Katerina and Maria, both in their early 30s, are not involved in politics and have stayed firmly out of the limelight.

Russian President’s wife and girlfriends

Lyudmila met President Putin long before he took up the prestigious role in 2000, which he has performed on and off while also taking on the role of Prime Minister. She worked as an air hostess in her earlier adult years for PJSC Aeroflot, also known as Russian Airlines.

The pair married when Putin was 30 and Lyudmila was 25. They had their ceremony on 28 July 1983.

The pair have two daughters, Mariya, 32, born in Saint Petersburg, and Katerina, 31, who was born in Dresden, Germany.

Katerina is married to Kirill Shamalov, a Russian businessman, and is a dancer and directors at the National Intellectual Development Foundation and the National Intellectual Reserve Centre.

Mariya is the more mysterious of the two sisters.

She is in a relationship with Dutch businessman Jorrit Faassen. Russian magazine The New Times claimed that she has a career as a medical researcher.

Who has Vladimir Putin been romantically linked to since his marriage ended?

This 34-year-old woman is a retired Russian gymnast. Since the age of three the brunette trained as a gymnast and she went on to win gold at the 2004 Olympics Games in Athens.

She has also won eight gold medals at two world championships, in 1999 in Osaka and in 2003 at Budapest. She won the the gold in the all-around, team, ball and ribbon competition.

Alina has also modelled on the front cover of Vogue Russia and attempted to launch a singing career. She has had a political career, and as a member of Parliament voted through laws banning the adoption of Russian orphans by citizens of the US and a ban on homosexual ‘propaganda’ aimed at teens.

It was reported that Alina gave birth to a child at a VIP hospital in Ticino, Switzerland in March 2015. In October the MailOnline ran an article titled: “Has Putin’s ‘lover’ had his baby?”

Neither Putin, Alina nor his family have addressed the rumour. However, Vladimir Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said: “The information on a baby born to Vladimir Putin is false.”

Most recently Alina was scene in February, appearing to wear a silver band on her wedding finger.

The lady with the red bag

The most recent woman to be linked to Vladimir Putin has this very mysterious name, as only her bag has been exposed to the world.

A video that appeared online in July showed Putin speaking to a woman in the back of a car.

He opened the door for the woman, but quickly shut it again, leaving viewers wondering, just who is the women? Is she a lover, or one of the women listed above? Or could she simply be a friend or colleague?

Putin appears to be preparing for war as troops have lined up on the North Korea border just one day after Vladimir Putin’s nation fired a ballistic missile.
