Lipstick Under My Burkha actor Aahana Kumra opened up about her struggle in Bollywood and also shared her horrific experiences with Bollywood director!
Aahana Kumra revealed that “I met him (Sajid Khan) and he did the same thing that Saloni has written about him. Same drill – you go to his house, you are escorted to his room which is pretty dark. He makes you watch what he’s watching,” Ms Kumra said in the interview.
Aahana Kumra clarified that while Sajid Khan did not make unwelcome advances at her, he continued with the conversation in his own room: “He did not make a pass at me but he wanted to get to know me. When I asked him why can’t we sit outside, he said that his mother was sitting there so why trouble her. I asked him to switch on the lights of the room, which he did,” she said.
Aahana also went on to say that she was assertive in how she responded to him and let him know that her mother was a police woman.
“But he still asked me bizarre questions like, ‘Would you have sex with a dog if I gave you Rs 100 crores’? He didn’t touch me,” she added.
Aahana Kumra, who said she was well aware of Sajid Khan’s reputation as “shady” while scheduling the interview, added in her interview that the filmmaker asked her “bizarre questions”, which are too vile to be reproduced here. “I told him my mom’s a police officer, which I think made him behave,” she also said. Recounting a previous incident, Ms Kumra also said that Sajid Khan allegedly once sent her a text message implying disbelief over seeing a bikini shot of hers. “Sajid Khan once messaged me, ‘Oh, you can look hot in a bikini also!'” Bombay Times quoted the actress as saying.
She said, he didn’t touch me. I guess he was trying to give me gyaan on how I need to be adumbf*** or laugh at his sexist jokes if I wanted to be a mainstream heroine in his films. He implied that I think too much and that I am too vocal about what I think. Hence, I am not mainstream actress material. Point being, you can meet anyone, but be wise about who you work with.”
Sajid has been accused of sexual harassment by three actresses and a journalist. He has since stepped down from his position as the director of Housefull 4.
In a Twitter post, the director explained his decision to step down as the director of the film as a ‘moral responsibility’.

He wrote, “In the wake of the allegations against me and the pressure being put on my family, my producer and the stars of my film Housefull 4, I must take the moral responsibility of stepping down from my directorial post, till the time I can allay the allegations and prove the truth.”
The #MeToo movement in India was sparked by Tanushree Dutta’s allegations of sexual harassment against actor Nana Patekar. Subsequently, several women have come out and shared their ordeal and have talked about workplace harassment.
Subsequently, several women—actors, journalists and professionals—took to social media to talk about workplace harassment. Sajid Khan, Vikas Bahl, Subash Ghai, Rajat Kapoor, and many more were named as sexual harassers.
