First Tanushree Dutta& now Kangana Ranaut, the #MeToo campaign in India is now in full force.
In an interview to India Today, Kangana had also shared her harrowing experiences of working with Vikas Bahl, during Queen. She said that he used to hug her tightly and “bury his face in her neck”. He would also brag about casual sex, despite being married.
However On October 7, when Sonam Kapoor was asked to comment about the controversy and Kangana’s statements at a recent event in Bengaluru, she said that while the incident was disgusting and heartbreaking, Kangana shouldn’t be taken seriously. “It’s hard to believe Kangana. Kangana says a lot of things,” Sonam had said.
Kangana Hit Back At Sonam
Furious with Sonam’s comment on her, Kangana Ranaut, in an interview with Pinkvilla, spoke her mind. The actress, disappointed with Sonam’s response, slammed her for the judgemental comments and went on a rant insisting that Sonam has no business or right to judge her since she is known and is a celeb only because of her father Anil Kapoor. She further went on to say that Sonam is not a good actress or a good speaker, and as such doesn’t have the credibility to pass judgement on a celebrated actress like herself.
Here’s Kangana’s response!
“What does she mean by saying, “its hard to believe Kangana” When I am sharing my me too story, who gives her a right to judge me? So, Sonam Kapoor has the license of trusting some women and some she won’t…What makes her so unsure of my claims, I am known to be an articulate person, I have represented my country in many international summits, I am called as a thought and youth influencer to these summits, I am not known because of my dad I have earned my place and credibility after struggling for a decade. She isn’t known to be a great actress, neither she has the reputation of being a good speaker…… What gives these filmy people right to take digs at me!!!! I will demolish each one of them.”
For the unversed, in a recent article on Huffpost India, a woman has reiterated the allegations of molestation against Vikas Bahl. Soon after, Queen actor Kangana Ranaut also alleged that Bahl made her feel uncomfortable on several occasions.
Kangana had earlier said that “Every time we met, socially greeted and hugged each other, he (Vikas Bahl) would bury his face in my neck, hold me really tight and breathe in the smell of my hair. It took me great amount of strength and effort to pull myself out of his embrace. He’d say ‘I love how you smell K’.”
