Kangana Ranaut is a hot topic as during a conversation with spiritual leader Sadhguru last wek, Kangana lambasted ‘liberals’ as ‘people who won’t include you in their group unless you hate the same people as they do.’
The actress interacting with the spiritual leader during ‘In Conversation with the Mystic 2018’ earlier this week slamming India’s liberal class and talking about the issue of mob lynching.
Here is what she said!
On misconstrued liberalism of modern Indians, on the legend if Rani of Jhansi Laxmibai saving a Cow & how as a pastoral country India has always regarded cows as wealth & status #KanganaRanaut gets candid with @SadhguruJV #KanganaMeetsSadhguru pic.twitter.com/HKvmnQiYOg

During the event, talking about lynchings and how the liberal section of Indian society is treating these incidents. She talked about her upcoming movie Manikarnika: Queen of Jhansi. One of the scenes in the movie depicts Rani Lakshmibai saving a calf. However, during the shoot, the crew decided to alter the scene and had a huge discussion about it, replacing the calf with a lamb.
The actress had said, “You feel very protective of who you are and what your values are, and you want to save all animals and you definitely want to save the cows because the prejudice is really agonising. But (then) lynching for cows takes place and you look like an idiot.
“You feel conflicted and you want to save the animals but when the lynching happens, you feel heartbroken at what’s going on. You feel this is wrong,” Kangana added.
She also said- “When a war breaks, liberals are the first ones to say…to demotivating an army man who is protecting the borders for you. A rape takes place in Kashmir and they say ‘Hindustan raped our daughter’. To be pointing fingers at each other when the country is so vulnerable and trying to break a civil war. Is that what liberals do?” Kangana added while talking about soldiers fighting on the border and Kathua rape case that took place in January.
To clear her stance on cow lynching, the Queen actress told Mid-Day that they, her and Sadhguru, never normalised lynchings.
“We didn’t normalise lynching at any point. If a certain religion worships cows, you can’t slaughter cows. I am a vegan and I can’t see raw meat. I can’t be shamed for my choices. If it’s a sentimental thing, why instigate people?” she told the daily.
“I am the most liberal person I know, but self-proclaimed liberals can’t rattle me by trying to seek attention. Their agenda is to go against the Government, protest against the national anthem, but how are they standing up for the country? Our situation needs to be rectified by a strong set of ideals that can bring us out of the pit,” she continued.
