King Khan Celebrates Birthday with Zero: 6 Things to expect from the trailer

It’s a special day today and Shah Rukh Khan fans across the world would definitely agree. King Khan turns 53 and on the occasion of his birthday, the makers are set to unveil the trailer of Zero, one of his most-anticipated films of all time.

Starring Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif in key roles, the film has garnered quite a buzz ever since it was announced. Be it the film’s star cast or its intriguing first few glimpses – everything about Zero so far has managed to amp up fans’ curiosity.

Just a few hours away from the grand trailer launch to be held in Mumbai, here are a few things one can expect from the trailer.

It’s a first for Shah Rukh Khan! While Shah Rukh has experimented quite a lot in his career and with his filmography so far, playing a vertically challenged man is first for him. The film’s teaser, which was released on Eid, offered a glimpse of his character and his performance and if that is anything to go by, the trailer will be a treat for fans. It will be interesting to see how Shah Rukh gets the mannerisms and characteristics of his character Bauua right.

Shah Rukh, who was last seen in Imtiaz Ali’s Jab Harry Met Sejal, reunites with Anushka Sharma, with whom he’s previously worked in Rab Ne Banaa Di Jodi and Jab Tak Hai Jaan, for the third time. If reports are to be believed, Anushka plays Shah Rukh’s love interest and the poster featuring them two made their story look like a sunshine love story and it remains to be seen what track their story takes. It’s also a first for Anushka to play a wheelchair-bound character with a certain disability and going by her previous performance, one can expect an authentic act in the film.

Meanwhile, the angle of Bauua and Katrina Kaif, who plays a superstar in the film, also makes for an interesting peg. One can expect some miraculous scenes and moments of hope in their love story. Shah Rukh and Katrina have previously worked together in Jab Tak Hai Jaan.

Given that Aanand L Rai has always aced the accurate portrayal of the small town milieu, one can expect the same perfection in the trailer. The film is set in Meerut and fans are expecting to see familiar points including the popular Ghanta Ghar and also a handful relatable traits in the characters. It will be interesting to see how Aanand makes sure the characters (and the actors) blend well with the setup and adapt to the small town milieu, which seems quite imperative to the film.

“Kanpur ki leather jacket, Dilli ke goggle aur Banaras ka gamcha daale jab hum ghar se nikalte hain to Meerut mein aise hi curfew lag jaata hai!” Going by Bauua’s latest social media interactions, one can also expect quite a few punchlines and memorable one-liners in the trailer. Apart from a gamut of emotions that comes with the disparateness of the three characters.

The trailer, which is reportedly 3 minute and 13 seconds long, is one of the longest trailers in Bollywood but more than that, the film features cameos from several Bollywood biggies including Salman Khan, Rani Mukerji, Kajol, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, R Madhavan, Abhay Deol. The film also sees a special appearance from late actor Sridevi and fans can’t wait to see their beloved thespian on the big screen for the one last time.
