K.L. Saigal was one of the best singers of Hindi cinema and was born on April 11, 1904. Today is his 114th birth anniversary, on this occasion Google has remembered him by dedicating a doodle.

In the 1930s, he stepped into the singing industry. BN Sarkar hired him on contract of 200 rupees per month. Sehgal met musician RC Boral here. Actor Saigal got an opportunity to act in the Urdu film ‘Mohabbat Ka Aansoo’, which was released in the year 1932. After the success of the film ‘Puran Bhagat’ in 1933, Sehgal was able to make his impression in the film industry. In 1937, Sehgal received immense success with the Bengali film ‘Didi’.
Born on April 11, 1904 in Jammu, Kundanlal Sehgal sang 185 songs in his cine career, and his songs are still relevant. He sang songs in Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Punjabi, Tamil and Persian languages. He also starred in films like ‘Mohabbat Ki Aansoo’, ‘Zinda Lash’ and ‘Subah Ka Sitara’. In 1935, he played the main character in PC Baruah’s movie ‘Devdas’. His songs ‘Balam Aaye Baso ..’ and ‘ Dukh Ke Din Ab Bitat Nahi’ are known as ‘Milestones’ in Indian cinema.
He first worked as Railway Timekeeper and after that he started working as a typewriter salesman at Remington Typewriter Company. After leaving this job, he took over the job of hotel manager and after that he appeared in the film world. He started his career as a singer and he sang songs in both Bengali and Hindi films.
