Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah seems unimpressed with Vivek Oberoi’s casting as Prime Minister Narendra Modiin the upcoming biopic titled PM Narendra Modi.
With Hindi films based on both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former PM Manmohan Singh generating buzz among movie-goes, National Conference leader took a dig at PM Modi in his latest tweet, while comparing the movies “PM Narendra Modi” and the “Accidental Prime Minister”.
When it comes to casting, In a sarcastic tone Mr. Omar on twitter compared “PM Narendra Modi” and “The Accidental Prime Minister” and remarked that “life is unfair” for “poor Modi-ji” in a sarcastic tone.
Life is unfair Dr Manmohan Singh got someone of the calibre of Anupam Kher. Poor Modi ji has to settle for Vivek Oberoi. Salman Khan hota toh kya maza aata.

He meant that PM Modi had to “settle” for Vivek Oberoi to play his role in the movie based on him. Abdullah also mentioned Bollywood actor Salman Khan in his tongue-in-cheek tweet. While veteran actor Anupam Kher plays Dr Singh in “The Accidental Prime Minister”, VIvek Oberoi essays the role of PM Modi in “PM Narendra Modi.”

he first poster of “PM Narendra Modi” was unveiled by Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis recently. In the poster, Oberoi, standing in the signature pose of PM Modi, shows an uncanny resemblance to the Prime Minister and almost appears unrecognisable. The film is being directed by Omang Kumar, who had previously helmed “Mary Kom” and “Sarabjit” biopics.
Meanwhile, the Anupam Kher-starrer “Accidental Prime Minister” is based on a book by Manmohan Singh’s former advisor Sanjay Baru (played by Akshaye Khanna in the movie) and is slated to release on Friday. The movie has already generated controversy as many in the Congress are of the opinion that the film, which depicts events that occurred during the UPA-led Congress government, perhaps portrays Congress President Rahul Gandhi and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi in a “bad light”.
Both films have created a huge buzz as the campaign picks up for the national election due by May.
