The story of Dev Prabodhini Ekadashi or Dev Uthani Ekadashi
Shankasur was very strong Asur. It spawned a lot in the three worlds. Lord Vishnu went to war with Shankasur on the prayers of the devotees. The war of Lord Vishnu took place for many years with the Shankhasur. Shankasur was killed in the war. While fighting, Lord Vishnu was very tired, so he began to sleep infinitely in the Kshir Sagar. After four months of sleeping, Lord’s sleep broke on Kartik Shukla Ekadashi. Gods worshipped Lord Vishnu on this occasion. In this way, God Prabodhani Ekadashi fasted and the law of worship started.
