Vij, who was on a visit to a village in Ambala constituency for BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate from the seat, Rattan Lal Kataria, when people gathered outside raised slogans of ‘BJP murdabad’, ‘Anil Vij murdabad’.

This riled up the BJP leader following which he used abusive language at the voters which could not be played out in the video.

The protesters claimed they were protesting against Vij, for he was to blame for the lack of development in Ambala Cantt, the constituency that the minister represents in the Assembly.

Earlier this year, Vij made a scathing attack at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and  compared her to ‘Taraka’, a demoness in the epic Ramayana.

In a post on Twitter, Vij said that Mamata, like Taraka, is coming in the way of the BJP’s national programmes, after the West Bengal government denied Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s chopper to land in the state.

“When I used to go to watch Ram Leela in childhood, there was a scene in which saints used to perform Yagya and Taraka used to interrupt them. Mamta ji is doing the same thing by banning the rath yatra of Amita Shah ji,” he had said.

Recently, another leader, a minister in Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s cabinet, Bhanwarlal Meghwal, was seen intimidating a woman police constable at a polling booth in the state.

Meghwal, who is the Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment in Rajasthan, barged into the polling booth in Ward Number 20 in Churu district’s Sujangarh and shouted at the police constable for not letting in media persons inside the booth.

Haryana will go to polls on May 12 and reports of BJP leaders facing protest from the masses have frequently emerged on social media.
