Hours after BJP’s Kailash Vijayvargiya’s “chocolaty faces” remark, Madhya Pradesh Minister Sajjan Singh Verma hit back at the saffron party and said that it has leaders with rough faces that’s why they are generally disliked by everyone. In a new low, the minister said that BJP has Hema Malini and they make her perform everywhere to garner votes. The BJP lacks chocolaty faces, he further added.
Singh, who represents Dewas constituency, told the BJP to praise the lord that he made Priyanka so beautiful. “Motherly affection and love radiates from her face and by using such words against Priyanka Kailash Vijayvargiya is demeaning himself and his party,” said Singh.
Senior BJP leader from Madhya Pradesh Kailash Vijayvargiya sparked a row yesterday after he said the Congress is using “chocolate faces” ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha elections and added that the party lacks self-esteem. Later, the BJP leader said his statement was misinterpreted.
Ever since Priyanka Gandhi decided to take the plunge into politics, the BJP and Congress have engaged in a war of words. While Congress leaders termed her entry as a political masterstroke by party president Rahul Gandhi, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said the Congress has finally accepted that Rahul Gandhi has failed and that’s why he needs Priyanka’s support. Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad called Congress a family concern and said: “such things are unusual”.
All India Congress Committee President Rahul Gandhi appointed her sister Priyanka as the General Secretary in charge of Uttar Pradesh East ahead of the General elections. This comes after Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party and Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party formed a historic alliance keeping the grand old party out of the equation.
