Our country India has witnessed many deadliest terrorist attacks in the past years and has lost the lives of many soldiers and also the civilians. Most of the terror activities are sponsored by Pakistan because of the history as India shares borders with Pakistan and that is why Pakistan has become a breeding ground for the terrorists.
This is really sad but true- India is one of the top five terrors hit country in world. Here is a list of worst terrorist attacks in India.
1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts
On 12 March 1993, the first biggest coordinated terror attack in the world took place in Mumbai.
Between 1:29 pm and 3:40 pm, a series of 12 strategically-planned bomb blasts ripped through iconic, commercial and crowded spots across the city.
The conspiracy was planned by Mumbai’s (Then Bombay) underworld kingpin Dawood Ibrahim to set violence against the Hindu community.
2001 Parliament attack
Five terrorists belonging to Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) attacked the nation’s safest building – Parliament – on December 13, 2001.
5 terrorists were killed and six Delhi Police personnel, two Parliament Security Service personnel and a gardener died in the attacked. Terrorists reached the convoy of Vice President of India and car started firing after getting off from their car. The firing lasted for several hours. At the time of attack there were more than 100 prominent political figures in the Parliament.
26/11 Mumbai Attack
This was the worst terrorist attack India has ever witnesses. The attack was conducted by Lashkar-E-Taiba and mastermind was Hafiz Saeed. More than 150 people including 18 police officers and two NSG commandoes were killed in the attack. At least 310 others were injured. The 26/11 terror attack was a professional commando operation of Pakistani military and ISI.
9 October 2005 – Delhi Serial Bomb Blast
Just two days before Diwali a series of 3 bomb blast took place in Delhi. It was conducted by Pakistan based Terrorist organization Islamic Revolutionary Front. Two bombs were exploded in busy market – Sarojini Nagar and Paharganj. Third blast took place in a bus in govindpuri. The attack in Sarojini Nagar & Paharganj market were more deadly as it was Dhan-Teras. More than 63 people died and 210 person were injured.
2006 Bombay train blast
The bomb blasts took place on July 11, 2006, and it proved to be one of the most damaging India ever witnessed. A series of seven blasts took place in Mumbai’s local trains over a period of 11 minutes during evening rush hour. The bombs were set off in pressure cookers and a total of 209 people were killed and over 700 were injured.
2016 Uri attack on Indian army base camp
Date- 18th September 2016, Killings- 17 soldiers were killed
2007 Samjhauta Express bombings
Date- On February 18, 2007, 68 people were killed and dozens were left injured.
2008 Jaipur blast
Date- May 13, 2008, According to official reports, 63 were killed and 216 or more people injured.
2008 Assam bombings
Date- On October 30, 2008, caused at least 81 deaths and 470 injuries.
2008 Ahmadabad Serial Bomb Blast
Date- On July 26, 2008, 56 people dead and more than 200 people were injured.
