In the video, the students, attired in white and pink, can be seen raising slogans like ‘Amit Shah Wapas Jao’ (Amit Shah Go away!) and trying to obstruct a police vehicle. Although it was important to maintain security at Shah’s Friday rally. So, male police officers allegedly thrashed them, raising questions on the absence of women police force to contain situations like these.
Political rivals took the opportunity to attack Shah and the cops for mercilessly assaulting the manner less protestors.
The incident reveals the anger, suffocation n desperation common people are feeling under BJP rule. #AmitShah Ji should have listened to the girls, instead they were dragged inside a police vehicle. BJP leaders have stopped listening to common people.#Allahabad https://t.co/Hb2CRO7qZ0

Is this what our democracy has been reduced to? – Richa Singh, Samajwadi Party leader!
Richa Singh, Samajwadi Party leader and former president of Allahabad University Students’ Union, said the party is planning to get an FIR registered against the policeman for manhandling a woman.
She said: “There were no women police personnel (on duty at the site), and a policeman pulled one of the women protestors by the hair. Is this what our democracy has been reduced to? This government talks of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’, but is this how our female students are treated?”
