A leaked manuscript of an autobiographical book written by former cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan’s ex-wife Reham Khan has stirred up controversy within the country’s political ranks.

A yet-to-be released book by former wife of cricket legend and senior Pakistani politician Imran Khan is causing a political storm in Pakistan ahead of the general elections in July.

In an exclusive conversation with CNN-News18, Reham says that the book tells what the Pakistan’s electorate must know before they decide to vote for him. Dubbing Khan as Mr U-turn, she says Imran warming up to the military reeks of political opportunism and everyone, from his opponents to his backers and New Delhi, should be wary of him.

The tell-all book, Reham says, would also reveal instances of sexual coercion or favours, including some that directly relate to Khan. Reham says that sexual favours have been used to give out powerful positions. Some of these are related to PTI. “Sadly in Pakistan, this is not such a big problem,” she says. She also said that in case Imran Khan becomes the Prime Minister of Pakistan, it would be very dangerous for the country.

Reham Khan has been served a legal notice by four persons

Four persons include cricket star Wasim Akram, after she made sensational disclosures about their sex lives in her upcoming book.

The notice sent by her first husband Dr Ijaz Rehman, cricketer Wasim Akram, a British businessman, Syed Zulfiqar Bukhari, and Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) media coordinator Anila Khawaja, claims that she defamed them in her autobiography, the manuscript of which was leaked online recently.

The notice includes some highly sensational allegations that Reham has made in her manuscript about Akram and the three others.

At pages 402 and 572 of the leaked online content of the book, Reham accused Akram of using his late wife to carry out his sexual fantasies by arranging a black man have sex with her while he watched.

“This is grossly defamatory, indecent and disrespectful to our client’s late wife. Wasim Akram is an internationally well-known former Pakistani cricketer and media personality who is being acknowledged by cricket experts and fans as being one of the best test fast bowlers in the history of first class cricket,” the notice stated.

Reham was married to Khan from January 2015 to October 2015. The opposition politician re-married earlier this year, his third, with Jemima Goldsmith (Jemima Khan) being his first wife.

Reham is expected to launch a book before the general elections, Express News reported earlier. The book is premised on her personal experiences as a “mother, wife, journalist and warrior”.

Imran’s supporters slammed Reham

Imran’s  supporters allege the book falsely maligns him as a liar and hypocrite who feigns religious faith. PTI supporters fear such allegations or claims of infidelity could hurt Imran’s appeal among Pakistan’s conservative urban middle-class.
