A highly controversial video is going viral, purportedly showing Congress leader Kamal Nath telling supporters to ensure that Muslim vote bank goes up. In the video, Kamal Nath is purportedly heard saying, ‘agar Musalman ko vote deni hai, to Congress ko vote do (vote for the Congress if you want to vote for Muslims).’
The sensational video allegedly shows Kamal Nath, the nine-time Lok Sabha MP of the Congress from Chhindwara, saying that if the party does not get at least 90 per cent of the Muslim votes, it will be a big loss. In the wake of the video, the BJP has decided to approach the Election Commission.
Vote for the Congress if you want to vote for Muslims- Nath
In the video (Watch It Below), Nath is heard saying that the RSS and the BJP have only one message for the voters — a vote for Narendra Modi means a vote for Hindus — and “agar Musalman ko vote deni hai, to Congress ko vote do (vote for the Congress if you want to vote for Muslims).”
“They have said a really good thing about voting. How much is the percentage of voting? I request you. You should see the old records. It is on the Internet even today. If you want you can take it out. In the Muslim booths, what is the percentage of voting that has taken place? If 50-60 percentage of voting has taken place, why was it just 60 per cent? Why wasn’t it 90 per cent?”
“अभी temporary जनेउ पहन रखा है …निपट लेंगे इनसे बाद में..”
The “fancy dress Hindus” are exposed yet again ..Kamalnath ji promises the Muslim clerics that the Congress will surely deal with the Hindus after the election ..for now the Muslims should stand with the Congress! pic.twitter.com/sZJmW15h7d

Big Loss if We Don’t Get 90% Muslim Votes
“It is important to do a postmortem of the previous elections. If you want we will get it done to 80-90 per cent. If we don’t get 90 per cent vote share of the Muslim community today, then it will be a big loss for us. You are saying 80 per cent. I am talking about 90 per cent. We have the numbers in front of us. We have the numbers from different districts. You know which is a Muslim booth. In that booth, what was the percentage of voting that took place? If 60 per cent voting has taken place there, there would be a reason behind it,” a voice, allegedly that of Kamal Nath, is heard saying in the video.
The video which has also been tweeted by national BJP’s IT Cell head Amit Malviya has triggered war of words between the BJP and Congress.
Congress spokesperson Bhupendra Gupta defended Kamal Nath’s statement. “He was addressing Muslims so he asked them to vote in large numbers. What is wrong in that?… If the BJP is accusing us of minority appeasement, why did Prime Minister Narendra Modi visit a masjid in Indore, and why are they talking about developing madarsas…”
Awaaz Nation does not vouch for the veracity of the video which was supposedly shot during an internal meeting of the Congress.
