Mamata Banerjee Responsible For This IPS Officer’s Suicide?

Mamata Banerjee forced a retired IPS for suicide? Read his heart wrenching suicide note. ‘VICTIMISED FOR 10 YEARS'

The alleged suicide of a senior police officer in Kolkata has become the fodder for political attack by BJP leader Mukul Roy, on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The retired IPS officer Gaurav Dutt, who committed suicide earlier this week, has held West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee responsible for his death. Gaurav Dutt, a 1986-batch IPS officer slitted his wrist at his home on February 19.

In the alleged ‘suicide note’ that went viral on social media, the officer accused Ms Banerjee of abetting his suicide by keeping him on “compulsory waiting” — a punitive step when an officer is not given a posting — and for withholding his dues after he retired on December 31, 2018.

In the suicide note, he wrote that the CM had enforced him to take such a drastic step.

How the ‘suicide note’ became viral is not clear. Mr Dutt, was a 1986 batch IPS officer.

On Tuesday, his wife returned home to find him in a pool of blood at his Salt Lake home. His wrists were slit. He was immediately taken to the hospital but did not survive.

Dutt said, “Present CM WB has victimised me for 10 years and went all out to demoralise me due to her single-minded vendetta against me for reasons best known to her.”

He alleged in his note that the CM had blocked his honest hard earned savings. “This vindictiveness of CM is unparalleled,” Dutt wrote.

The retired IPS officer wrote that after his step, the government will be bound to release his savings.

He said he decided to take the step to highlight problems of “genuine” officers in Bengal. “If one can’t live with honour it is better to die with honour,” Dutt wrote.

“She (Mamata Banerjee) has a strong inhuman quality to use and discard IPS officers,” Dutt alleged, and added that only her favourites get palatial bungalow, SUVs.
Dutt Accused Mamata of Harassment.

The IPS has accused Mamata Banerjee of Harassment

Accusing Mamata Banerjee of harassment, Dutt wrote, “CM refuses to close my 2 pending proceeding cases. One case file is lost deliberately by WB govt. In 2nd case no corruption charge could be substantiated. Even DG requested CM but she refused to close cases.”
Mr Dutt was suspended for nine months from February 2010 for “conduct unbecoming of an officer”. According to reports, he was suspended after the wife of a constable complained that Mr Dutt had tortured her husband because he had refused the officer’s sexual advances. In 2012, he had again faced disciplinary action for alleged financial irregularities.
Three weeks ago, high drama ensued in the stated capital after Banerjee protested against the arbitrary action by the CBI on the then Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar in connection with the chit fund scam. The alleged suicide is likely to further escalate the tension between the ruling and opposition parties.
