Manohar Parrikar passed away after battling pancreatic cancer for over a year. Sources told PTI that Parrikar was put on life support system late Saturday night.

Parrikar, who rose from a pracharak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to become the country’s Defence Minister and also chief minister of Goa, enjoyed a man-next-door image in the politically-volatile coastal state. He was so loved and popular that he was elected as the chief minister of Goa four times — 2000, 2002, 2012 and 2017.

After his death, Parrikar has left a huge question mark for the BJP. No one knows if his party will be able to find a mass leader with the sort of aura that Parrikar had.

Political leaders, Bollywood and Indians across the country have condoled Mr. Parrikar’s death.

We can never forget your contribution in Indian Politics Manohar Parrikar sir.
