How would you react if you have a ‘ghost’ knocking on your door? No idea? But in the early 90s, the people of Bangalore had a scary way to communicate with ‘ghosts’. Around 90’s Bangalore went through a scary rumor that there was a witch in the capital of Karnataka. People believed that witch wanders around the city and knock on the doors of people. If you open the door then your death is confirmed. In this way people used to write ‘Nale Ba’ outside the house. It means ‘Come tomorrow’. Seeing this, the witch could be distracted.
Why People Started Writing Naale Baa On Their Doors
People wrote NAALE BAA on their doors which means “come back tomorrow”. This was their way of keeping themselves safe. By this they hope that demon doesn’t come back even tomorrow!
Many People Claimed That They Heard Unusual Knocks At Doors
Since many residents claimed that they have heard an unusual knock at the doors of the houses during the odd hours. This is the reason they wrote Naale Baa on their gates, which is a Kannada phrase for ‘Come back tomorrow’.
The Witch Mimics Voice Of Your Family Members
The urban legend describes that the witch knocks on your door mimicking the voice of your family member. In this way she tries to trick you into opening the door. As soon as you open the door, you die. You will be shocked to know that in some parts of Bangalore, April 1 is celebrated as Nale Ba day.
