Whenever there is a dispute, some people start calling Indian Muslims as Pakistanis. For this reason, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) President Asaduddin Owaisi on 5 February 2018 demanded that government should bring in a law to punish anyone who calls an Indian Muslim “Pakistani”.
Modi led government would not bring such law- Owaisi
He, also added that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government would not hear his demand and bring such a bill in the Parliament.
Political leader Owaisi has himself, faced the “go to Pakistan” remark in the past.
In March 2016, Asaduddin Owaisi as slammed by Shiv Sena that asked him to “go to Pakistan” for refusing to chant ‘Bharat mata ki jai’.
Shiv Sena minister Ramdas Kadam had said, “Asaduddin Owaisi doesn’t deserve to live in India because he does not respect this country that has given him so much. He should go to Pakistan or we will drive him out of this country.”
Recently the DM of Bareilly questioned the increasing trend of entering Muslims localities by force and raising anti-Pakistan slogans.
In one of his posts, the District Magistrate wrote: “Ajab rivaz ban gayaa hai. Muslim mohallon mein jabrdasti julus le jao aur Pakistan murdabaad ke nare lagao. Kyon bhaii, ve Pakistani hain kya? Yehi yahaan Bareilly me Khailam mein huaa tha. Fir patharaav hua, mukadme likhe gaye…”
A strange trend has started. Take out processions through Muslim localities to trigger violence” and then raise anti-Pakistan slogans. Why? Are they Pakistani? The same thing had happened in Khailam village of Bareilly. Then stones were pelted, FIRs lodged).
He had to take down his post after facing criticism by people.
Triple talaq bill was a ploy to send Muslim men to jail – Owaisi claimed recently.
In a public meeting last month (January), a release from AIMIM quoted Asaduddin Owaisi as saying, “Will triple talaq stop after the law is brought?”
He also said, Dowry deaths and other crimes against women did not stop even when laws were made against these practices.
Owaisi’s demand has created a storm in Twitter and with in no time,” Indian Muslims ‘Pakistani’ ” start trending. Here are trending tweets.
There should be a law to punish those who raise Pakistani Flag/Isis slogans
I’m not a parliamentarian as Asaduddin Owaisi but as a patriotic Indian, I demand a law that punishes Indian Muslims who raise Pakistani and ISIS flags/slogans. If that’s not possible, at least drop them to the other side of the LOC so they can stay in a country that they love.

Why Owaisi is opposing Triple Talaq
Bring law to punish those who call Indian Muslims ‘Pakistani’, says Owaisi
Good show. Izzat & aid from slur is imp? But why then oppose #TripleTalaqBill only because there’s 3yr prison sentence 4 man who unilaterally divorces his wife?
Her izzat not imp? https://t.co/j4RAKPwRCh
