Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday(8 May 2018) said that he will become the Prime Minister if the party emerges as largest in the 2019 Lok Sabha election. Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi has declared he could be the party’s prime ministerial candidate for the 2019 general elections.
“That depends on how the Congress performs … if it emerges as the biggest party — yes,” Gandhi said, replying to a question on whether he would become the PM. When asked what in case it’s an alliance, he said: “…if the Congress is the biggest party, then yes.”
The Congress chief was speaking at an interaction session with eminent personalities of Bengaluru after inaugurating the Samruddha Bharat Foundation, a platform that seeks to “propagate liberal, secular and republican values”.
This is the second time Rahul Gandhi has expressed his readiness to be the Prime Minister if the Congress gets a majority in next year’s Lok Sabha polls.
In September last year, speaking to students in Berkley, he had said that he was “absolutely ready” to be the Prime Minister.
Reacting to his remarks, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said: “As far as Rahul Gandhi’s desire to become the Prime Minister is concerned, that comes with a sense of amusement to us.
“It has an entertainment value… He, earlier as the Vice President of the party, had been responsible for Congress election disaster and as President of Congress also. Election after election, a string of elections, he has lost for the Congress,” he was quoted as saying by PTI.
However, some people supported Rahul Gandhi whereas on other hand he got trolled also. Here are some trending reactions on his statement.
Rahul wants to become PM
Akhilesh wants to become PM
Momta wants to become PM
Mayavathi wants to become PM
KCR wants to become PM

Only chance left to NDA and Mr Modi will be our PM for another term..

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 End of the world. I am okay if Modi is not the Prime Minister. Atleast, I will not accept a person with zero credibility as PM. He has consistently failed to deliver in elections. UPA has better leaders.

This country will be doomed the day we have a 50 year old uneducated cry cry kid as this country’s PM, a kid who does not even have the ability to write a condolence obituary message without copying it from his cell phone. He is day dreaming 🤣🤣

This morning, when @RahulGandhi woke up at night, he dreamt he had become the PM. Get out of la la land and face reality RaGa. You have neither the brains, nor the skill to even be employed in a normal job and here you are dreaming of becoming the PM

#RahulWantsToBePM Pappu seems to be celebrating April fools day in the month of May. he forgets that his whole family has been fooling people of India since 70 years. Fortunately India is no more a Dynastic rule as Pappu thinks. Forget PM he will not even win his Amethi seat.

Whereas some people supported Rahul Gandhi
There are more chances of @JhaSanjay tweeting sensibly than @RahulGandhi becoming the PM of India in 2019, but I respect his for his ambitions. If a chai-seller can become the PM of India, why can’t RG aspire to be the PM? There is no GST on day-dreaming! #RahulWantsToBePM

He faced so many verbal attacks, trolls but have you ever seen him fighting back with harsh word. So, he is a gentleman with genuine heart who doesn’t run after free marketing or credit taking.
He deserves to be the PM
