Heavy rain hit several parts of Delhi in the early hours today, bringing the temperature down by a few degrees. Heavy rain and lightning were reported around the Delhi airport, central Delhi and RK Puram among other areas. Noida and Gurgaon also experienced light to moderate showers.

Thunderstorm between 3 am and 4 am led to falling off trees and water-logging in many neighbourhoods. A few schools in Gurgaon have also announced holiday due to bad weather. Power cuts gave also been reported from several areas.
A traffic advisory was also issued by Delhi Traffic Police.

Monsoon had hit Delhi on June 28, a day before its scheduled arrival date. Rain activity over the past month has been hovering between light to moderate in most places across the city.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had earlier predicted heavy rain at isolated places over Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Konkan, Goa, Telangana and Coastal Karnataka on Tuesday.
