Sadhvi Pragya In A Fresh Trouble: FIR Registered Against Her

Sadhvi Pragya In A Fresh Trouble: FIR Registered Against Her For Her Latest Controversial Comment.

In a major setback to Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, an FIR has been registered against the BJP Lok Sabha candidate from Bhopal for her remarks over the Babri Masjid demolition.

On Saturday, Thakur sparked a row by saying that she has no regrets over the demolition of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya and that she was “proud” of her decision. The Bhopal District Election Commissioner officer on Sunday issued a notice to Thakur and sought her explanation within a day for her remarks.

However, the EC was not satisfied with her response and thus an FIR was registered against her for violating the model code of conduct.

“Pragya Singh Thakur was issued a notice by district election officer for her comment on Babri Masjid’s demolition and her response to it was not satisfactory. Therefore, FIR has been registered against her for violation of the model code of conduct,” sub-district magistrate of Bhopal, Sanjay Kumar Srivastava told news agency ANI.

When the BJP candidate was asked to comment on the matter, she said, “It’s a legal matter and my legal team is looking into it.”

In an interview to a TV news channel on Saturday, Thakur had said, “We will build a Ram temple and we will build an imposing (temple). We had gone there to demolish the structure. I climbed atop the structure to raze it and I feel proud of this. God had given strength to us and we removed a scar on the face of the country.”

The BJP leader remained firm on her statement on Sunday and said that nobody can stop her from constructing Ram temple in Ayodhya.

“Yes, I had gone there (Ayodhya), I had said it yesterday too, not denying it. I had demolished the structure. I will go there and help in the construction of Ram temple, nobody can stop us from doing that, Ram rashtra hain, rashtra Ram hain,” ANI quoted her as saying.

Sadhvi chapter 4 of the model code of conduct- EC

The EC notice stated that it was a violation of chapter 4 of the model code of conduct, which pertains to maintenance of harmony between castes, communities, religious, linguistic groups.

Striking a defiant note in her reply to the EC, Thakur said her comments on the demolition of Babri mosque did not violate the Model Code of Conduct. In her reply, she questioned the competence of the media certification and monitoring committee to take cognizance of her comment when she had not filed her nomination. She said she did not make the comment to whip up communal or religious passions. “My comment was an expression of my inner voice,’’ she said.

Recently, Sadhvi attacked Late ATS cheif

Thakur had recently hit the headlines by saying that late Anti-Terrorist Squad chief Hemant Karkare, who lost his life in action during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, died because he treated her “badly”.

“Hemant Karkare falsely implicated me [in Malegaon blasts] and treated me very badly. I told him your entire dynasty will be erased. He died of his karma,” Thakur, who is 2008 Malegaon blast accused had said at a rally in Bhopal on Thursday.
