Former Union minister and senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid is attacking BJP nonstop. Speaking at a public rally in Farrukhabad yesterday, Khurshid said “Main ailan karta hun ki Modi se meri ladai mein jo mere saamne aayega aur mujhe rokne ki koshish karega, woh gathbandhan ka naam le ya haathi ka naam le, main usko vaar karke chur-chur kar dunga (I announce that in my fight against Modi, whoever tries to intervene or stop me, notwithstanding the fact that he takes the name of either gathbandhan or haathi, I would destroy him).”
Khurshid had earlier attacked Amit Shah, saying that the time has come for BJP President to grieve in this elections.
In another controversial remark, Khurshid had earlier used a Bollywood dialogue to call himself the “baap” of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Khurshid also threw a debate challenge to Yogi on the 2008 Batla House encounter, while stating that he would like the venue of the debate to be a cowshed.

Following the remarks, the Bharatiya Janata Party filed an FIR at the Kotwali police station against the Congress leader.
Khurshid said he can debate the 2008 case “whenever and wherever” Yogi wants.
“It will be better if it takes place in a gaushala, to find out if the cow is with him or me. But tell Yogi ji that ‘rishtey mein main unka baap lagta hun’ (I am like his father),” the 66-year-old leader told reporters on Sunday.
Yogi had earlier said that cases like the Batla House encounter took place during the Congress rule.
“One must question Salman Khurshid what relation he had with the people of Batla House. On what grounds, he went to defend them in court,” the UP CM had asked Khurshid.
