Anil Kumble stepped down from the post of the Coach of Indian Cricket Team. This news comes after a disappointing performance by the Indian Cricket Team in the finals of the Champions Trophy in which India lost to arch rivals Pakistan by a huge margin.

Anil Kumble stepped down from the post stating in his resignation letter, that the Captain had reservation about his style and about his continuing as the Head Coach.

The rumors about the rift between the Captain and the Coach had earlier also evolved before the beginning of the Champions Trophy but the same were negated.

The Indian Cricket Team left for the West Indies tour whereas Kumble decided to stay back at London to attend the ICC Annual Conference

The BCCI said that MV Sridhar will travel to the Caribbean to “supervise the team management”, while batting coach Sanjay Bangar and fielding coach R Sridhar will continue in their roles.
