Honda, the famous Japanese automaker, plans to launch the tenth version of its popular premium sedan- the Civic – in India. The latest generation of Honda Civic is expected to fill the gap of 5 years from its predecessor’s discontinuation. The eighth generation of the popular Honda Civic was discontinued because of the increased demand for diesel sedans and availability of better alternatives. The new 2018 Honda Civic India will have fuel-efficient and powerful engines along with an eye-catching design. The new Honda Civic will also pack many additional features over its predecessor. The tenth generation Honda Civic is expected to launch at a base price of ₹14 lakhs.

New front look

The new Civic has been built on an entirely new platform and the looks have been designed to fit in the new Honda design language. It looks like a baby Accord unlike the distinct styling of the previous generation cars. The signature thick chrome slat in the front with the modern LED headlamps and LED DRLs to look futuristic.

Unlike the typical sedan profile of the earlier Civic, the new one has notchback-like lines with a high boot lid and a sloping roof. The tail design is striking with the boomerang-shaped tail lamps, twin exhausts and multiple creases. The 17-inch alloys look striking as well.

Minimum Expected Price:-  Rs 14 Lakh

Maximum Expected:-  Price  Rs 20 Lakh

The new Honda Civic will fill the gap between the City and CR-V. Prices are expected to fall in the neighbourhood of 14 lakhs for the base model and 20 lakhs for the top model.

The new Civic 2018 will launch in India with two engine options- petrol and Diesel. The petrol engine on offer will be a 1.8-litre, iVTEC unit that will output around 135 BHP of maximum power and 170 Nm of peak torque. It will come mated to a 6-speed Manual Transmission as standard. A CVT will be optional. Honda is known to make excellent petrol engines that are high on both performance and refinement. The Civic will benefit from this trait. Even the earlier Civic offered a 1.8-litre motor that was high on both refinements on performance.

Inside, you have the typical Honda interior, similar to the ones we have seen in the BR-V and the City. The all-black interior looks premium with the brushed aluminium highlights but the India car might get a black and beige combination instead. It gets a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen infotainment system and automatic climate control. The instrument console has a large tachometer at the centre with e-digital speedometer and a multifunction display nested in it. The other dials are the fuel and temperature gauges. It gets armrests for both the rows with height adjustable driving seats and electrically operated wing mirrors.
