The 2017 Ford EcoSport has been unveiled for India. Ford EcoSport is well known for its compact nature which included the internal luxury of sedan classes and external SUV looks. It is easily affordable for a middle-class group of a nation and having the new amazing set of features.
- It’s an amazing ‘face’ lift:-
Most of the cosmetic changes to the updated EcoSport are concentrated on its face. You have a new hexagonal grille and sharp, angular headlamps that look a lot like the Mustang’s and the Endeavour’s, as well as a redesigned front bumper and fog lamps. The 17-inch alloy wheels – shod with 205/50 R17 tyres (on the Titanium+ variant) – feature a new design as well, though the EcoSport will remain more or less unchanged in profile and round the back (hatch-mounted spare wheel too!). Ford will also offer more colour options for this car.
- Six Airbag for more safety:-
The new Ford EcoSport comes with a total of six airbags on the top trims, while dual front airbags are offered on trims, save for the base one. All variants though come with ABS as standard. In addition, Ford’s Emergency Assistance system is on offer as well that will automatically call emergency services in case of an accident.
- New Interior Design Too:-
Ford has changed a fair amount on the inside too – the basic design of the dash is more or less the same, but the centre console gets a new layout and is crowned by a touchscreen for Ford’s SYNC 3 infotainment system. The instrument cluster and steering wheel are also all-new and the cabin is now decorated with body-coloured inserts, as opposed to silver ones on the current car. There is a lot of new switchgear, though certain features such as rear AC vents are still missing.
- Powerful Engine:-
The tried and tested 1.5-litre four-cylinder TDCi diesel engine continues to be on offer and is good to produce 123 bhp. All engines will come paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.
- New Ford EcoSport 2017 Price in India
Variant Expected Price
Base Model Rs 6.50 lakh
Top Model Rs 9.50 lakh
The Indian compact SUV segment has been witnessing the surge in demand and car makers have been rolling out new models to benefit from the sharp rise in demand. First launched in 2013, EcoSport is among the top-selling models in this space, however, the launch of new models such as Maruti Vitara Brezza and Tata Nexon has turned the heat on EcoSport, hence the facelift makes sense to retain its position. Therefore, the Amercian carmaker aims to achieve competitively pricing.
