The king had not one, two or four, but  40 queens. The then Minister of Patiala and Kapurthala, Devan Jarmani Das has revealed shocking secrets of the king in his book ‘Maharaja’

It has been said that the king was fond of  swimming. For this, he built a red marble and sandalwood pond. King’s pond was lit by candles. All the queens were required  to dance at the pond with one candle. They were supposed to be lit till the end of the dance.

4. Firoz Shah Tughlaq

Before Tughlaq was named as king, he was only a prince. He was very fond of hunting, So he used to go to jungles for hunting. There in forests, those people used to live who were abandoned by their respective villages.

There he(Tughlaq) met  Gujri who was a milk selling woman. She was so beautiful that Firoz Shah Tughlaq fell in love with her. He used to meet her on daily basis.

One day he asked her to accompany him to the throne at Delhi, but she refused. So, the king built a palace for her mistress(Gujri) in Hisar (city) and built his own palace complex around it. And that is the main reason why this palace is also known as Gujri Mahal.

3. Rana Kumbha

Rana Kumbha  was facing failure in attempts to build the fort wall. He got a strange advice from a spiritual adviser. The king was asked to perform human sacrifice and build a temple where the head would fall, and to build the wall and the fort where the rest of his body would lay.

According to popular folklore, it is said that he mysteriously killed many men to pave the way for fort wall. Ain’t this a spine-chilling secret? Know more in next slide.

2. Shah Jahan, The most Famous Mughal Emperor

Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan dedicated  Taj Mahal to his favorite wife Mumtaz Mahal after her death. But less people know that Mumtaz was his 14th wife and she died while giving birth to her fourteenth child.

After her death she was buried in Burhanpur for six months. Later Shah Jahan took her body to Agra, where she was buried in Taj Mahal. After Shanjahan’s died, his body was buried next to Mumtaz’s grave. In the next slide read about the secrets of most famous emperor of India

He remained illiterate and uneducated all his life as he occupied the throne at the early age of 13 years after his father(Humayun) died. Akbar married hundred of times. But the shocking fact is  that Akbar had around 300 official wives and over 5000 concubines.
